Winter weather

Winter in South Louisiana is one of the most interesting seasons I have ever encountered. One day it will be below freezing and then next it will be almost 80 degrees. There is no consistency nor rhyme or reason to it. We have been having a cold spell for the last few days, following one of the hottest winter stretches I can remember.

I love the cold winter weather. I love going outside and breathing in cold air and seeing my breath as I exhale. The warm weather during the winter is very depressing in my opinion. It is especially bad when it rains. I much prefer the cold during the winter. It kind of wakes me up to walk outside in the morning. I wish we could just tell all types of weather to stay in their season, then it would be always good cold weather.

    I agree, winter in south Louisiana is really interesting and weird. There is no consistency to the weather, great blog post. Great Post.

    Weather in Louisiana is definitely much less predictable, even compared to South Korea. I like your own personal opinion on the matter.

Reading Response to The Firm

I have covered a lot of new information in The Firm.  Mitch has started working and works 100 hour weeks! He has passed the bar exam with the highest score. He seems to be doing extremely well at the firm, but then something strange happens. While he is eating lunch by himself, an FBI agent approaches him and tells him some veery strange stuff about the firm. He reports this to Lamar Quin and Lamar reports it to the higher ups. They explain to Mitch that this is not true. There is an example of dramatic irony in this book. As a reader I know that this stuff is true because there have been scenes proving it true. Mitch looks very naive to me because I know this. Grisham does a very good job chapter to chapter in this book. He will say something at the end that makes you want to read more into the next chapter. My reaction to the portion that I read this week could be described as disgusted. Respond to passage from LOTF pg 143

On page 143, Simon is talked to by the Lord of the Flies. The lord of the flies is really just a dead pig head. It is very debatable whether this is a hallucination on Simon's part or real. I believe that it is real in this story because it is symbolism of Simon as a Jesus-like figure. The lord of the flies says stuff like,"I'm warning you, I'm going to get angry." He has a bad temper and is very symbolic of Satan tempting Jesus. Another thing he says is "I'm the reason why it's no go." This shows that the beast has been interacting in the island all along. This gives us a lot of insight to Jack and the others' motives. This shows us that Satan may be acting on their behalf. Even if this is a hallucination, it is still very important to the story.
